Hanoi Drinking Water Testing – A Community Service Project
The testing of drinking water in Hanoi is a community service project that DSI have been carrying out since 2009. The goals of this project are to:
- Provide information to the local and international community in Hanoi on drinking water safety
- Determine arsenic levels in the Hanoi water supply
The sampling sites for this project are households in the city nearby the 13 main water supply treatment plants (WSPs) and 4 smaller water treatment stations
The sampling has been underway since May 2009, and 36 rounds of samples have been tested on a quarterly basis to date.
Many other parameters are tested apart from arsenic, including nitrate, manganese, iron, hardness, total coliform, fecal coliform and free chlorine. Information about these can be obtained by contacting DSI at the address below.
